Polytechnic Ibadan May Join Other Oyo Tertiary Institutions In On-Going Strike-NASU Chairman

Yanju Adegbite
There are indications that workers at The Polytechnic, Ibadan may join their counterparts at the Ibarapa Polytechnic, Eruwa, and the Oke Ogun Polytechnic, Saki, in the on-going strike embarked upon by tertiary institutions in the state.
It will be recalled that Ibarapa Polytechnic and Oke-Ogun Polytechnic are on indefinite strike action to press home their demand for the payment of their ’24’ months salary arrears owed by the Oyo State government.
According to Comrade Ibrahim Akande, the chairman of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, chapter of the non-academic staff union (NASU), said the “Main campus” will also join the strike if the situation is not brought under control by the state government.
He however called on the Oyo state government to find a lasting solution to the problem.
