Police Nabs Suspected Gunmen After Attacking Philantrophist In Ilora


Oyo state police command have apprehended six gunmen suspected to be behind the attack on Elder Afolabi Morakinyo, popularly called ‘AFOS’ a poultry farmer and philantrophist in Ilora, Afijio Local Government of Oyo State.

Elder Afolabi’s house was attacked around 2am on Thursday, 25th May, 2017 by unidentified gunmen who invaded his house in Ilora, killing one of his guard and injuring Mrs Afolabi in the attack.

TheCrusader gathered that the gunmen numbering about 25 after scaling the fence, forced their way into the house of the elder but could not find him.

It was gathered that on Thursday 1st of June, at about 3 pm, six out of the 25 suspected gunmen were brought to the
scene of the incident at Elder Francis Morakinyo Afolabi, house by Oyo state police.

The arrested persons were said to have demonstrated how they scaled the fortified fence before entering the house.

Items such as telephone sets and other valuables carted away by the gunmen have been recovered by the police.

Some residents who spoke under the condition of anonymity, lauded the Oyo state police for the arrest of the hoodlums whom they said have been terrorising the people of Ilora.
