The supreme court has upheld the election that brought in Ben Ayade, the governor of Cross Rivers state.
Joe Agi, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and stalwart of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), had dragged the incumbent governor, Ben Ayade, to court over alleged age falsification.
However, the panel of justices held on Friday that Agi and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) could not prove the allegation against the governor.
It was gathered that officials of the Cross Rivers State government had earlier today, stormed Abuja to show solidarity support for the governor.
Minutes after the verdict, supporters of Ben Ayade have been jubilating on the decision of the supreme court describing it as victory for the people of the state.
