Armed Robbers Invade Kanku Taiwo Layout, Cart Away Properties

Armed robbers numbering about 15 in the early hours of today, invaded ‘Kanku Taiwo’ Layout and ‘Aba Alfa’ area in Akobo, Ibadan carting away properties worth thousands of naira.

According to a resident who pleaded anonymity, he said the armed robbers broke into houses around ‘Kanku Taiwo’ at 12am, disposing people of their phones, money and other properties.

He noted that the robbery operation lasted for about four hours as the robbers moved from one house to another with weapons.

Another resident who spoke to our reporter says, some residents were inflicted with cut as the robbers used machet and other dangerous weapons on their victims.

He lauded the effort of policemen from Akobo Division for their timely intervention but says the policemen couldn’t  gain entrance to the area because the gate leading to the street was locked and the where about of the night-guard was unknown.

He however called on the Oyo State government to improve the security situation in Akobo community.
